A 1-year-old child is dead after being attacked by three Sheppard mixed dogs, according to Duncanville police.
Authorities said the child was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.
Duncanville police said there were four children at the home, but only one was attacked by the dogs.
The three dogs were identified as Sheppard mixes, according to Duncanville Animal Control. They all weighed between 80 and 100 pounds.
Duncanville Animal Control took away the three dogs and put them into quarantine pending surrender by their owner, police said.
If the owner does not surrender the dogs, Duncanville police will file a court order to have the animals declared as dangerous dogs.
